About Us
Firm History
Our firm began back in February 1985 when the husband and wife team of Andrew & Juenith McIntosh began practicing law within the premises of the former Westpac Bank in Sydenham. In the latter part of the 80s they shifted across the street to a dedicated office at 52 Battersea Street, which remains the home of the firm today.
We've seen a lot of changes to the legal sector since 1985, but our philosophy remains the same - honest legal services at a fair price.
Whether we've acted for you for years or are seeing you for the first time, we like to treat our clients with respect and maintain an easygoing atmosphere, without the stuffy suits and intimidating legalese. We're not big on advertising here, as we find that our satisfied clients are the best marketing that anyone could ever ask for.
Despite the significant losses experienced in 2011 from the earthquakes and with Andrew's passing, our firm continues to effectively serve both new and longstanding clients. Feel free to contact us and see how we can assist you.
Our Staff
Juenith McIntosh (Solicitor)
Working Days: Monday - Friday
Juenith is the principal solicitor of the firm, handling the majority of our client appointments and legal matters. Hailing from the small and stony town of Oamaru, she graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Laws. She then made the move to Christchurch in 1980 with her husband and business partner Andrew, and has kept busy since.
Juenith is passionate about seeing clients treated fairly and seeing a just result, and she maintains a welcoming, friendly attitude. With over 30 years of experience in the legal profession, she offers professional and friendly legal advice and strives to provide any assistance required within her areas of expertise.
Nikita McIntosh (Solicitor)
Working Days: Monday - Friday
Nikita is a qualified solicitor who is experienced with Powers of Attorney, estate administration, and conveyancing matters. Christchurch born and raised, she graduated from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelor or Laws and has been practicing with us since 2014.
Suzanne Coumbe (Registered Legal Executive)
Working Days: Wednesday - Friday
Suzanne is a Registered Legal Executive who is highly experienced in conveyancing transactions. You'll find her busy at reception, finalizing our statements and working down to the wire on complex settlements.
After a varied career covering broadcasting, retail work, and raising a family, Suzanne graduated with a Diploma in Legal Executive Studies, and joined the firm in 2013. Suzanne is always a friendly face in reception, and predominantly assists with settlements and conveyancing transactions.
Heydon McIntosh (Legal Assistant, Trust Accountant)
Working Days: Monday - Friday
Heydon works as a Legal Assistant at the firm, employed in administration duties and assisting with conveyancing matters. He also manages the firm's trust account, client deeds, and the firm's IT system. Heydon originally joined the firm in a part time role in 2015, but has been working fulltime with us for the last few years.
Further to his experience in the legal profession, Heydon holds a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology (BICT) and a Cambridge CELTA in English Language Instruction.
